The paper did real-time style transfer on videos - it could take Van Gogh's Starry Night and a video of your kid playing baseball and make the video look like a moving (literally), and beautifully stylized painting. While building the video prototype for this project proposal, I replicated the paper's results on Amazon Web Services (using a p2.xlarge GPU instance), making a repeatable deep learning setup that just works.The complete ease and simplicity of the setup inspired me to go further and show the exact steps to an enthusiastic attendee at my deep learning conference, who is not even a software developer, but a manager at a Pharmaceutical industry. After this experience, I felt compelled to turn this into a course.
